How to Redeem an Invitation Code (via a web browser)

Already redeemed your invitation code? See Logging On to MCAS

To login to the MCAS Parent Portal you will need to have a valid e-mail address registered with the school and an Invitation Code which the school would have sent to you. If you do not have an Invitation Code please contact the school for one, as you will not be able to access the Parent Portal without one.

From your web browser go to www.mychildatschool.com – this will open the login page:

Click on the “Redeem Invitation Code?” link.

Enter your:

  1. School ID [Furley Park 12329 | Hamstreet 12328].
  2. Username [Found in your MCAS invitation email from the school].
  3. Invitation Code [Found in your MCAS invitation email from the school].
  4. Tick the “I’m not a robot” box.
  5. Click on the Redeem Code button.

You will then be shown the Setup your Account Details page:

Enter:

  1. The email address you wish to use with MCAS and confirm it.
  2. A password [Please note, your password must have 8 or more characters, 1 uppercase character, 1 numeric character and 1 special character.] and re-enter it to confirm it.
  3. Click the Save Account Details button.

The following message will be displayed and you will be re-directed to the login page:


Logging on to MCAS (via a web browser)

From your web browser go to www.mychildatschool.com – this will open the login page:

Enter your:

  1. School ID [Furley Park 12329 | Hamstreet 12328].
  2. Username [Found in your MCAS invitation email from the school].
  3. Password [You chose this when you redeemed your Invitation Code – see How to Redeem an Invitation Code]
  4. Click on the Login button.

Verifying your Email Address (via a web browser)

Already verified your email address? See Using the MCAS Dashboard

When you first log on you will be presented with the following:

Please double check the email address you have provided and click OK to send a validation email to that address (if the address is incorrect, please click Back and re-enter your email address).

Open the MCAS – Email Verification email you will have been sent. It should look similar to the following:

And click on the Here link. The following page will load and your email address is now verified:


Using the MCAS Dashboard (via a web browser)

When you log on you to MCAS will be presented with the following dashboard:

Please note, the logo and title of the page will change depending on the school you are accessing.

Each of the coloured boxes are called Widgets and they show information about your child at school.

  • Attendance shows if your child has been registered for AM and PM registers.
  • Classes shows you the class your child is in and the name of their teacher.
  • Announcements will show messages from the school that relate to your child.
  • School Documents will be used to publish useful or important information from the school.
  • Reports will show reports that have been written by your child’s class teacher.

You can get more information from each of the Widgets by clicking on the More button.

The Widget options can also be opened from the Menu Bar on the left-hand side of the page.

Please note, some options are only available on the Menu Bar and are not displayed as Widgets.

The Data Collection Form (via a web browser)

The Data Collection Form shows you the personal information we hold about your child. You are able to edit this information to ensure that the school has the most up to date information available for you and your child.

You are able to edit the following information:

  • Preferred First Name
  • Preferred Last Name
  • Former Last Name (if applicable)
  • Date of Birth
  • Address Details (enter a postcode and click Find)
  • Gender
  • Country of Birth
  • Languages Spoken
  • Religious Affiliation
  • Ethnicity
  • Nationality

The following Medical Information can be added or edited:

  • NHS Number
  • Blood Group
  • Emergency Consent to School (for emergency treatment in the event we cannot contact you)
  • Paramedical Support (Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy & Occupational Therapy)
  • Medical Conditions (Hayfever, Astham, Diabetes, Allergies etc.)
  • Disabilities (Problems with mobility, hearing, vision etc.)
  • Doctors Surgery (Choose Other and search by postcode if you cannot find the correct surgery)

The following SEN Information can be viewed:

  • Provision
  • Needs

When you have made changes to the form click Submit Changes.

Please note – Any amendments will first be approved by school administration staff before any records are permanently updated. Amendments that are not approved will revert back to their original state.

You can also edit the personal details we hold about you. Click the View Your Personal Details button:

You are able to edit the following information about yourself:

  • Title
  • Relationship to Child
  • Member of the UK Armed Forces
  • Telephone Numbers
  • Email Addresses
  • Home Address

When you have made changes to the form click Submit Changes.

Please note – Any amendments will first be approved by school administration staff before any records are permanently updated. Amendments that are not approved will revert back to their original state.

Announcements (via a web browser)

The Announcements page will show any announcements that have been published by the school office. If you are using the mobile phone app, and you have enabled notifications, you will receive a notification when this happens.

Attendance (via a web browser)

The Attendance page shows how attendance has been recorded for your child over the academic year. Please check this carefully and contact the school office if you have any queries.

Reports (via a web browser)

The Reports page will list any reports that have been written and shared about your child.

You can preview them on the right side of the page or download them by clicking on the report title on the left side of the page.

Academic Calendar (via a web browser)

The Academic Calendar page displays the academic year. Use the key to determine what days are normal school days, holidays, closures and school events.

Parental Consent (via a web browser)

Coming Soon – this page will be used to display what consents you have granted the school with regards to your child at school. You will be able to grant consent online for things like school visits, publishing of photographs and videos and Internet access at school.

School Documents (via a web browser)

The School Documents page will show important documentation that the school has published for individuals, groups or whole school purposes.

Topping Up Your School Dinner Account (via a web browser)

The Dinner Money option is only accessible from the Widget on the Dashboard.

The Widget displays the current Credit Balance Summary and gives the option to top-up the Balance.

To do this enter the amount in the Deposit Amount box and click the Add to Basket button.

The Shopping Basket icon on the top bar will now display that you have 1 item in the Basket, click here to open the Basket and view the contents, the item can be removed by clicking on the X to the right.

To continue click on the green Checkout bar – this will open the Shopping Basket. Here you can click the Clear Basket button to
empty the Basket or the Checkout button to continue and make your payment.

Enter your Payment Details on the following page:

Once your payment has been verified a confirmation message will be given and the Credit Balance Summary will be updated on the Widget.
